You guys are faboo.

The move went well. I met Jake a little after 7am to pick up The Van, then he bolted for a full day of work under the blazing sun with Neil. Slackers. I came home and muddled around for a few hours, stuffing things in boxes and cleaning. Anton joined the ranks sometime around 11 and we started actually moving stuff into The Van. We took it easy. We had all day.

Steve moseyed in at 2:30 at Jake & Neil called to say they were still hard at it. The three of us continued on, with The Van now about half full. Most of the little stuff was gone and we set to lugging the two-man loads.

We figured The Van was overkill at one ton. That’s a big box, and we were only a third full.

Well, Neil showed up in time to help finish ‘er off, including this massive bitch of a desk, and we were stacking stuff waist high right at the tailgate.

I have a lot of stuff.

The four of us pulled up at the new place at 5:45 with fifteen minutes to unload before we were past the legal moving hours. I know. It’s a strata thing.

Chris rolled up just as we were getting into it and suddenly there were five in a blazing fury of relaying madness. It still took us about forty-five minutes to get the job done and poor Richard, the evening building manager, was very patient with us. I did not get beheaded.

And then, ladies and gentlemen, I took the lads out for the night. We rendezvoused at Moxie’s, which is all of thirty paces away now. We dined and drank, and chatted up the hired help. Then we headed to Darcy’s where we continued to do the same. The camera came out. We imbibed. Neil couldn’t finish his Grasshopper, but who could blame him? Lemon does not belong in beer. As soon as the temperature rises it tastes like bile. Yag.

And then we were off. The UC needed us and we could not resist the siren call. Many pictures were taken. Some of them will be posted. Others I may be bribed not to post.

Huge thanks to Jake, Anton, Steve, Neil and Chris. I could not have done it without you. It was worth every penny for the pleasure of your company. =)

And thanks to y’all for the good wishes. I knew you were there in spirit. Now I’m here, and the new digs are faboo. Well, they will be when I paint. That’s why the pic up there is black & white. The paint in here is… not good. Not to mention that the windows are covered with blue protective film and the building is covered with a green protective sock.

We now resume our mad life already in progress. I missed the last Spec party ever but I really needed to unpack a bit. And I may or may not have been hung over. Just a bit.

Tomorrow, while being my 33rd birthday, also sees me on stage with the Impromaniacs at Folk Fest. We’re over by the beer garden behind City Hall at 6 I think. 6 til 6:30. A wham-bam-thankyouthankyouverymuch. After that… I may or may not be up for having a sociable birthday-type beverage with whosoever may be inclined. Get in touch. We’ll get rambly.

  5. thanks for the love, guys! [muah]

and I said bbye to the JB again. I’m right downtown now. The hottie factor is considerably higher. rowr.

folk fest 6pm at Centennial Square. Impromaniac-ness!

  6. Hmm, yes. Canada Day. Tricky. We’re being given Friday off if we work Thursday. Of course I usually get Fridays off. I think I would rather be with y’all at the thing, so maybe I’ll see what I can do about Thurs. Then again I’ve got a very highly stacked early week next week… what, is it summer or something? Dammit.

  7. Looks like I won’t be able to make the BBQ on Thurs, but I’m hoping you guys can make it clear of the fireworks in time to get in at Upstairs. Will Memnaugh is opening, and you won’t forgive yourself if you miss him. Too funny. And Ghost of Science is top notch entertainment. You’ll fall in love with Gilles’ voice, and Tom is the kick ass on drums.

Thanks again for the b-day wishes, gang. It was faboo.

  8. happy belated dear mischiff

strep has once again had me unconscious and stupid and not plugged in.

    coffee (drinks) soon

  9. Happy birthday (again!), DJ.

Sucks you won’t be making it to the BBQ tonight. Heh– I am going to watch Drag Queen baseball this afternoon– too funny.

And you’re 30 paces from Moxie’s? Like, the downtown one? Do you live really close to Stephen and I, now?

  10. Jaime! I miss you. We’re hooking up soon.

Jason- aye, the downtown one. Which makes me about fifty paces from your place. We are running out of good excuses to continue our campaign of madness. Or hang out. Same same.
