stop rewarding hate

I am deeply disappointed in our Canadian Parliamentarians’ standing ovation for such a bigoted fool. In no way do I think #charliekirk deserves official recognition. He actively denigrated minorities, the unhoused, and the queer community. He said children should witness executions. He was comfortable with children murdered for his interpretation of the 2nd amendment. He cloaked his hatred in religion and smooth deflection. In no uncertain terms, he used his voice to do harm. The world desperately needs more compassion, and he did not possess it. He advocated violence, and he died by it. To be clear, he had the constitutional right to free speech and he exercised it, but nothing about his character is heroic or deserving of our respect. Parliament failed today.
