happily grinding away

Happy new year! The holiday was wonderful. Glad to be home. Miss everybody already. More on all that later.

For a couple years I have been working up the sheer will to build a central media drive. All the family pictures and videos in one place. It’s no small task. There are many (many) thousands of images. And that’s just since 2007.

Marjorie bought me a nifty little gadget that will, among other amazing feats of techno wizardry, allow me to turn any drive into Network Accessible Storage. There went my only excuse not to get started on my pet project. Thank you, dear.

2007 (selectively, obviously) is where we begin. That’s plenty for now. The roundup has taken much of my free time since we got back over a week ago. So many drives. So many pictures. All priceless. Losing an image is losing a little scintilla of your soul. That’s not to be confused with deleting an image, and while that’s rare for me, it does sometimes carry the benefit of regaining some soul.

Anyway, I haven’t been posting because 1) family, 2) work, and 3) monster media archive project. But I will see you soon.

Happy New Year
