Proof that no matter how nice you are some halfwit somewhere will kick you in the balls sooner than shake your hand:

Just about everyone has at least heard of Wikipedia, the user-maintained online encyclopedia which to me represents just about everything noble about the web. It’s been around for years and has recently exploded in popularity. “User-maintained”, however, also means “user-abused” in the case of those assholes who like to hide behind the anonymity the web affords. And when assholes make other assholes mad, those assholes frequently reach for a shotgun rather than try a more obvious solution like, say for example, fixing the problem.

One shotgun-toting asshole has decided to attempt a class-action suit against Wikipedia, saying the organization is liable for erroneous and damaging content. Just to illustrate my point of view this is the equivalent of saying New York is legally responsible for the content of the graffiti on its streets.

As soon as I saw the news of this lawsuit I headed to their website and noted the weak editing and poor grammar and I had the urge to write to them at the posted email address, lawsuit@wikipediaclassaction.org, to let them know what idiots they are. I didn’t, but someone did and I’m glad they did, because it shows the callibre of with whom we’re dealing.
