That’s my boy on the left. Miguel Nunes. He & Brad (glasses) were poached from the big guns in Vancouver and given a budget of half a million bucks to design their own mixing studio. A short while later the Dolby guys came by to certify the facility and what is normally a four hour wrestling match was a twenty minute thumbs-up. Miguel and Brad are brilliant, nuff said.
And last night they were recognized as such at the Geminis. They took the award for Best Sound in a Dramatic Series for their work in DaVinci’s Inquest.
This is where I get to be smug and say that Miguel is MY BUD. =) And he supplied most of the sound effects for the intro on my site. He also handled the tech for the mix of The Beer & Pizza Til 4am Mix back when I still lived over there. One day I’d like to grab him for a month or so and actually make some music. I think we’d come up with some pretty amazing stuff. Watch out Groove Armada. Check your six, B-Jaxx.
Migs- I’m totally hyped about this Gemini thing. Congratulations, and may it be just the start of bigger and better. (but no moving to the States)
Hawt! Way to go Miguel!
Yes he is a swell lad who spoiled us on our last trip to Vancouver. He invited us back to aforementioned studio for a video night like no other. Thanks again Migs and Congratulations d00d! Like there was ever a doubt.
