blizg better

Brandon and Nathan from blizg and photoblogs both responded to my email, and Brandon supplied me with this answer to my question. Thanks, guys, for getting back to me.

Long story short, the scores displayed by the blizg ranking system only change when you cast a vote, apparently. So if I understand correctly, that three month window floats along, dropping old votes off the back end, and when you cast a fresh vote the score gets updated and you see the new three month running tally.

WHICH MEANS my rank has been slipping because lately my positive voters have been remiss in showing their love, while the naysayers have been diligent in recent months.

Or maybe I have been sucking, and no one has any love to show? Could be. I may have managed to alienate everyone who may at one point have been inclined to vote favorably.

*shrug* I am who I am. I like to think that my posts do occassionally spark independent thought, even if those thoughts do not agree with mine. I guess it’s quite likely that that philosophy will result in plenty of negative votes. Even two removal votes. Nevertheless, that was my mandate, and I don’t really want to make the blog fluffy and cuddly in the hopes of improving my standings at blizg.

If I must be 71st, so be it.

On the other hand, if you like what goes on around here, by all means click the little ‘+’ sign over at my scoreboard.

Oh brother. I just clicked through to grab that link, and my positive and negative scores are tied, dropping me off the top 100 entirely. Woe is me!

VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! Hell, run to all your neighbours and use their computers to vote too!

Heehee! I’m incorrigible.

  1. I just gave you a positive vote yesterday:)

I’m the one that ’caused the tally to update and visually drop you from 13th to 70th. Sorry.

    COMMENT:
That’s a hella vote! but thank you, just the same. *blush*

  2. yeah the voting is gimped and the naysayers are usually people with shite blogs themselves. so votes are essentially useless. the main reason i am on blizg is the proximity blog feature. cooooooooool!
