holy noodle

For decades I’ve quietly snickered to myself at organized religion and how everyone lines up to kill each other over it. Lately there is a hard right-wing conservative push to get religion back into school in America. Specifically the Religious Right wants Intelligent Design (Creationism) taught as an alternative to Evolution. Under normal circumstances such an effort would die in the wings where it belongs but because they have a President “chosen by God” who is carrying out jihadImeanGod’swill various state governments are actually doing it. I’d wonder why they haven’t taken to heart the lesson learned in Animal Farm but such wisdom requires literacy, something America ranks 49th in, globally. The New York Times reports a fifth of Americans believe the Sun orbits the Earth. If they intend to continue this exceptional standard of education… well, may the Flying Spaghetti Monster help us all.
