I don’t say there’s really any more substance to the article I linked above. Both sides are going to exploit the facts to underline their arguments.
Nevertheless, why the hell should a government ever find itself in a position where it needs to justify its actions on foreign soil? Shouldn’t those actions be above reproach, being, as they are, representative of the will of the people, tempered by clear and careful foresight?
You see, it doesn’t matter how the facts were twisted. Only that they were.
