the friday five (on the dark side of Saturday morning)
1. What do you most want to be remembered for?
loving.
2. What quotation best fits your outlook on life?
“Stubbornly refuse to become blinded to the beauty that is still in the world.”
3. What single achievement are you most proud of in the past year?
Wondermill.
4. What about the past ten years?
My personal development. Years ago it dawned on me that I wasn’t a very good person. I’ve spent about ten years consciously, sometimes painfully, working to improve. To be a better friend. To respect myself and be responsible ultimately to myself, and to live my life in such a way that I can look back and have no regrets.
5. If you were asked to give a child a single piece of advice to guide them through life, what would you say?
There really, seriously, is nothing you cannot acheive if you want it bad enough. And no one is going to get it for you. That said, your life will be empty without friendship, so treasure that above everything else.
Where do you guys get all these lists? I doubt I’ll be filling a lot of them out on my blog, but I’m just curious. Every time I turn around you guys have another one.
COMMENT:
so you’re saying you turn around once a week? =P
I don’t know where jesteR or Kyle get the Friday Five from, but I just cut & paste it from them. The googlism list (I haven’t posted mine yet) is from googlism.com and the About Me lists come straight out of our heads. Umm… What else?
They’re just fun. I like them because they take my thinking on tangents that I might not get to on my own, and gives us points of comparison with each other on how we all think and what we consider important.
yeah, a tricky thing it is: living by truisms without being altruistic.
perhaps another viewing of M:R is ideally timed this afternoon. 3:30 show, no less. that’ll get me out in time for worky tonight.

“your life will be empty without friendship, so treasure that above everything else”
another truism.
*cheers*
http://www.fridayfive.org boys — but sometimes they suck.

hmmm. tough one to digest. I’m all up for the “friends first” idea but practically speaking, how can you achieve all that you want without giving up something? Unfortunately, that which is normally given up are the friendships and loves (that are easily taken for granted for obvious reasons) that will ultimately bring you the most joy and fulfillment. a bit paradoxical, me thinks. If you’ve truly figured this one out, a practical lesson may be in order. thanks for sharing yet again!
