My plan was to come home from a quiet enough night at work and post some more thoughts about politics. Namely the similarity in views between Jon Stewart (the whole Jon Stewart thing) and Trey & Matt’s new flick Team America: World Police. To cut to the chase- the American (read: western) desensitization and trivialization of what really matters. It’s not just America, obviously, but they seem to be the best at it.
Jon and the Brothers South Park are voicing the common sense: enough with the scandal flipping. It’s reached beyond the absurd. We want substance and accountability. You wouldn’t think this would be such a tall order. Imagine: politicians more concerned with doing their jobs than “winning”. Sounds like paradise.
Anyway, that’s what I was planning on coming home and writing about. But then we had a positively smashing night at the club. Serious. We were full and the crowd was great. Yay for Wednesdays at Upstairs! I like to think that my mix is different from all the other retro nights in town. I daresay you’d agree with me. I just try harder. At least in my humble opinion. Look at it this way: I’ve been doing retro nights since Vertigo’s days of glory. I’ve got around a thousand retro tracks. That means I can mix it up beyond Video Killed The Radio Star and Billie Jean. I like to keep the old stuff fresh, as it were.
But enough of that. Come check it out. I suspect you’ll have a great time. Everybody there tonight did.
K, I’m too tired to think. Must sleep. See you in the morning. [hugs]
I’m totally there DJ. And I’d just also like to add that I loved those wedding pictures. Even though I have no idea who those people are, you sure capture some great moments and images!
