Teresa
Liam
Local wildlife.
Dan. Local dad.
Dan turned 32 on October 12 and invited me to help. To celebrate I got to have a catch-up with Liam, who when I met him last was only capable of conversational drooling and now wields a shovel perfectly capably. I also got to meet Teresa, who is a perfect doll and could easily have charmed me away from Jen if only she prefered me over cheese. And if all that weren’t enough I got to help build a vegetable garden. Dan figured I had some experience.
We drank several Corona, which I have officially designated “permittable to drink while doing hard labour”. Many will be shocked to hear that I drank Corona and enjoyed it, but those many are also the same many who were shocked to hear I spent the summer doing hard physical labour, so screw them. =)
I’d say it took us maybe five hours and I don’t think anyone could have shaved much time off that and still had lunch, beer & cookies. I had a quick shower & zoomed off to pick up Jen. She was a little over-dressed for a mexican feast in the backyard but she’s remarkably flexible and didn’t burst into tears at the sight of all that dirt. And kids. I think it may be more accurate to say she beamed at the sight of all the kids. That girl makes me nervous. =P
Anyway, Dan & Tina were great hosts and I think I got the better end of the deal for a day’s work. Thanks, guys. It won’t be so long until the next time we see each other. I’m thinking games of some sort on a Saturday coming soon to a neighbourhood near you. Did I mention I have Risk? Do you like me more now? Or less?
In other news we had a fun night at the club tonight. I can safely recommend Wednesdays to you, even if you aren’t hugely keen on retro. Trust me: you haven’t met MY retro. Good times. And you should have seen Blair’s outfit.
Also- the improv festival album is in the home stretch. I should have it up before I blitz off to work again Thursday night (tomorrow for me, tonight for you). And then I think I’m going to take a short break from processing pictures and maybe finish painting the condo, reorganizing and moving in, and vacuuming a floor that desperately needs it. And of course there will be lots of time for Jen, who is languishing away at the idea of two days away from her boy. [muah]
Another reminder for everyone- your holiday party is going to suck if you don’t recruit the Impromaniacs. Consider yourself warned. You can either be a hero, or a dismally lonely and reviled loser who dreams of the good ol’ days when people didn’t hiss at you as you walked past their desks. Your call. Grinch.
Much love to all! Happy Thursday.
One final note- holy can Tiffany dance. Who knew? It was a dance showdown and she blasted all comers. Nice work, chick.
Happy belated Dan! I’m glad you had a good time with family and friends around you. Our kids look about the same age, and yours are very cute!! Liam is just how I pictured you as a child! Cheers!

COMMENT:
I pictured him bald as a child :)
You make it awfully tempting to post a pic of “Dan With Hair” circa 1990.
You mention how hawt Tiff can dance, yet post no pic. You are a dangling carrot bastard. If you are worried about Jen, tell her it is all my fault. I’ll think of something…
Happy Birthday Dan!! Family man looks good on ya! And Liam looks just like you!
Funny just yesterday I turned 31 not two days after your friend turn 32 . Shakes head
It’s a race you’ll never win, d00d.
I remember him with hair …
If you can track down a picture, that would be amusing … something showing the combover!
Wow Dan that is a blast from the past, When I think of Dan I think of a shutter Bug in a tiny James Bay Apt. Wow it really has been a long time :)
