too easy

Is it wrong of me to take the shots when they’re so easy? I mean, if a man in the City of Brotherly Love wants to pull a gun on the coach because his six year old son isn’t getting enough time on the football field… I don’t know, should I even bother with the usual rhetoric?

We hear about this sort of thing all the time, yet it’s so absurd even Hollywood won’t touch it, except in the most witless comedic sense. Shouldn’t that tell you something?

And yet Americans are surprised (indignant) that the rest of the world looks on in hysterics (half fear, half hilarity)?

Dear America,

You are eating yourself.

Thanks,

the rest of the planet.

In a related vein here’s an interesting article about how easy it really is to influence people into behaving a certain way. You’ve always known that Americans are violent and immune to logic, and you always blamed the media (and blamed their selfish bloodthirsty society for encouraging the media), but here’s some science that makes the relationship a little more clear.

It’s not just Americans getting brainwashed by pop media, obviously, but when a body is brainwashed into believing violence is not only cool, but is, in fact, the only answer… maybe a body should have his toys taken away.
