Just watched the latest episode of BSG.
The final scene with Adama and Roslin is some of the finest acting, especially on the part of Edward James Olmos, that I have seen in recent memory. Certainly the finest I have yet seen in a science fiction drama. The subtle shift in his facial expression as she turns away. Damn. You just don’t get that on TV, and only in the best directed movies.
It seems unfair to roll BSG into that category. The story is so character-driven that the setting is merely that: a loose set of rules in which real people do their best in impossible situations. Find me a fan of Lost that can’t get into Battlestar Galactica. Anywhere.
I will own these DVDs. Oh yes. They will be mine.
That’s what Mike got for Christmas. BSG miniseries, and season one. He’s thrilled! Amazon was very reasonable in the price department, and they had this free shipping thing with larger orders. Maybe you’ll get them as a wedding present… can you register for that?
