silly season

Here I am again up past my bedtime with no post ready for tomorrow. So much is going on. Or at least it feels like it.

Friday five Impromaniacs are pirating it up at the Bay Centre in conjunction with the Tall Ships dealio. We’re doing three li’l shows involving singing (I think), and dueling choreographed by Peter Abrahams. I’m not certain of the showtimes so I’ll have to update you.

On Saturday at the Fernwood Community Association the Impromaniacs present Six Degrees of Improvisation which promises to be hilarious. Details are at the Impromaniacs website.

Also on Saturday is the grand re-opening of the 17 Mile Pub just this side of Sooke. The new owners are a fabulous bunch of young guys who know how to treat clientele so I have no doubt the night will be huge. A band, specials, beach volleyball, bocce ball, horseshoes and barbeque. And so forth. Very good times.

Sunday djmischiff returns to the decks, oh yes. Sauce wants to revive the industry appreciation night and have tapped me to play a laid back groovy selection. I’m excited- it’s been a long time since anyone has really done an industry night properly. I hope to see you there. It’ll be a great night for hanging out.

And that, folks, is that. I’d love to talk about what a fab weekend it was, hanging out with Grant & Lola & Jason & Judd & Neil and assorted randoms (and spending half the night passing the phone around so we could all talk to Maigen), or falling asleep at 5pm Saturday and waking up at 10:30 having missed the entire night and Talktalk’s allstar game at the SOFA. And various other adventures worth sharing. But this dj daylights as a scaper of the land these days and I have to get up at 6 to go climb trees and mold rock faces and build stuff.

Must be well-rested for a certain interview which may happen on Wednesday. The word, my friends, is HUGE. Cross your fingers for me. This is the life changer.
