rate my prints

In an email conversation yesterday with a reader it was brought to my attention that maybe 8x10s, while small & cuddly, might not be what everyone is after. I had been going on the assumption that small = easily affordable and therefore fast-selling. This may all be true, but I should still post some rates for larger prints for those of you that already know perfectly well what you want, and you want it large.

print rates

That’s the card that is so far slated for the portfolio site. When I first saw what it would cost to get 60″ prints I said to myself, “guh!” But I have my heart set on one of those bad boys for myself one day, and if that’s what it costs then so be it.

So there you are. If you do want to get one of those massive (mahseeeve) prints it will take a day or two longer to get it to you, because I’ll spend a lot more time making sure the image is clean and tweaked just about as far as it will tweak. I’ll also number it for you as 1/1, sign it and date it. And deliver it via full marching band parade.*

*delivery may not include marching band parade.

    hey DJ,

you mention that you’ll be marking each print as 1/1. does that mean you’ll be taking each pic off the market once you’ve sold it?

  2. in a sense, but not quite. single issue prints get a lot of customization to suit the preference of the buyer. size, tone, cropping, even detail are all up to the buyer, so each print is unique.

when I get to a financial position where I can do limited print runs in advance of orders then yes, I will be restricting sales. for now, though, I’m doing single runs to order. I guess now’s the time to buy. =)
