So MSN is attempting to fight back against Google’s smashingly successful web-based email gmail (let me know if you want an invite- I have a few extra). No bones. Google is kicking Microsoft ass all over the interweb countryside.
MSN is in beta for MSN Search, an engine purporting to be biggerbetterfastermore than Google. So far reviews agree that it is faster, but by no means anywhere near more, in spite of some really cool features. I guess they’re still spidering. There are only 29 results for “djmischiff”, whereas Google is kind enough to offer 4910.
People have noticed that an MSN search for more evil than satan shows Google as the first hit. That’s pretty funny, yes.
But what no one has pointed out yet is that coming in at number five on that same page is an article written almost exactly five years ago, which mentions that back then the exact same search query in Google showed the Microsoft homepage as the first hit. It was so much fun that CNN picked up the story.
Coincidence?
I remember reading something about microsoft getting busted using google to populate msnsearch, haha.
