As is usually the case these days I have tons to say and no time to say it. Congratulations to Jere & Meliss who made me feel very welcome at their wedding. Thank you to Jen for making sure I didn’t feel neglected while you were busy being sparkly. And for asking me to be your date. It was definitely worth being in a room with 200 strangers. You’re a great dance partner. I like you. =)
The improv festival is this week! Engines are all-ahead full and this li’l freight train is unstoppable now. Another thanks to Jen for being very patient while I put the programme to bed. This time next week the whole thing will be a thousand pictures, a million memories, and a minor hangover. The Impromaniacs, ladies and gentlemen, are on fire. Check us out Saturday night. That reminds me- I’m supposed to find time one morning this week to do a radio interview with Steve and Amanda on her show at Village900. Shnykees. I think Steve suggested Thursday, but I’ve been asked to spin Wednesday night which means a bit of a zombie case Thursday morning if it’s too early. Amanda mentioned a slot open at 9:40… maybe I could pull that off? Hullo coffee?
More thinking after sleep. Where was I…?
I needed to fill an ad slot in the programme so on a whim I took it myself. For djmischiff.com. No idea what’ll happen with that. Some very random eyeballs I’m sure. But it comes on the heels of several discussions recently about why the hell I’m not making more of an effort to market my photography if I’m going to be so persistently obsessed with it.
Well, that’s a valid point. I’ve made my standing offer. 15% commish to anyone who sells a print for me. But with an actual ad out there I feel under a bit more pressure to actually do something about it myself, rather than wait for someone to do all the legwork for me. The curse of someone who has had pretty much everything come to him pretty easily by circumstance or shrewdness.
So I need to put a storefront in here for the gallery. Make a marketable product out of it. Like I have any idea how to do that. Actually that’s not true. I know exactly how to do that. But I need a few things checked off the list first- a merchant account so I can handle online payments; skill with probably Dreamweaver; a lot of time.
It’s really only the time I’m concerned with. The rest I can shrewd-o-fy somehow. Maybe it’s time to think about the one thing every great success story has in common- risk.
I guess what it’s really time for is sleep. Tomorrow comes early around here, at least for a little while longer.
Happy Monday. Hope you slept well. This is going to be a full-blast week. Oh- And doesn’t Jen look smokingly gorgeous in that shot? rowr.
Wednesday or Thursday is fine by me, dj. Actually Wednesday is probably a little better. The time is up to you – and Amanda – but let her know soon, becuase she’s got air-time to fill…

Re: the photography thing, GO FOR IT Adrian! Your stuff is easily good enough to bring in some blangers. Regarding more traffic, see your email. :)
And re: Jen. Ummm. WHEEE! *big silly grin*
I will take you up on that, aa. At least part of that. If it’s all the same to you I won’t use SuperTAF on li’l djmischiff.com. But I’m sure I could use your help in other areas. We’ll talk post festival.
I think you’re going to love Jen. Wanna double date sometime soon? Post-festival?
yes, sell your photos. they are (as you would say) HAWT.
also, jen looks adorable!! :D
i’m pretty sure i will love jen. that picture is of a grrl after my own heart.
let’s definitely set up some 2ble date action after the improvfest is over. and maybe after our move is over, too. otherwise i will bore everyone with stories of packing boxes.
that’s so boring, i can barely believe i typed it.
;)
