So you’ve made plans to attend the auditions for the Impromaniacs next Tuesday. Good.
But did you know that the middle of our galaxy is a black hole? Oh yeah. True story. I guess in a weird, circle-of-life kind of way it makes sense.
Apparently that’s no big deal though, because it’s not a particularly hungry black hole.
The pic, of course, is not of the black hole. There just isn’t anything to see. It’s a black hole, dammit. This is a long-exposure (like, days) x-ray image of the radiation escaping the event horizon of the black hole.
So there’s the teaser that got me started, and an hour later I was still reading about it. Go ahead. click. I dare ya.
