happy b-day grant

Echo back to a totally different time, around about this day last year.

Grant is still Grant. Still that guy with the charisma. In some ways not much has changed. Some tiny little ways. A lot has happened in a year. All our lives have changed so completely as to be almost unrecognizable.

I talked briefly with Jason today when he reminded me of what I posted on his blog on The Day The Mill Stood Still. How’s this for an inside joke: “Well, Nancy. Pack up your things. Max will see you to the door. Don’t forget your rolodex of rich lawyers with low standards. You’ll be needing that. And tell Donna I say hi, you know? I dunno. Ket.”

What a mad bunch. We deserved a better fate, I think. Not that fate is done with us. Not by half. I’m just saying I want to keep certain people in my life. They inspire me.

Grant, I’ll be seeing you this weekend. And hopefully more often. So very much worth the effort of making the time. Happy Birthday, old friend. Glad to hear you’re doing well. Here’s to more of that.

  1. Thanks for the kind words Ket. I’m looking forward to seeing ye this weekend. Things have changed and they’ve stayed the same. We all are always a phone call away. 7 digits to a new fate.
