the dragon in a jar

dragon in a jar - mischiff

It’s not a painting. It’s an undoctored photo. Yes, really. You can imagine my fascination when I received the email from Rachel.

She was also kind enough to point me to the story about the dragon in a jar. It looks to me like the people quoted in the story haven’t actually seen the real deal, and only have the same pictures to work from. Giving the jar a good shake would reveal if the figure is wax or rubber. =) I’m thinking even if it is rubber the attention to detail with the peeling flesh, just like real preserved specimens, is fantastic. A work of art if nothing less.

And if it’s not nothing less? Wouldn’t it be absolutely faboo if it was real? Fun to think about. I’ve always believed in dragons, if only as metaphor. They represent everything that is magestic in humanity. Great capacity for good or evil, with a generous stirring in of magic. And wings. Shut up. =P

  1. sorry to burst your bubble, but dragons are hatched and do not have an umbelical cord :)

    of cors its a fake!

    COMMENT:
You’ve got to introduce me to these dragon friends of yours, Denis.

  2. Actually, Chickens have umbilical cords, fish have umbilical cords and lizards have umbilical cords. It is what attaches them to the yolk of the egg.

Take a DNA sample of the bloody thing and end the speculation.

  3. Is it supposed to be coming out of an egg, with that ombelical cord still attacched?
If so how come it is so muscular? Usualy baby animals are kind of skinni and bon when they are just born, like lizards, when they come out of eggs they are tiny and bony, you can see through the skin, even crocodiles look skinny when they are born, now I know a dragon is strong but it is supposed to become strong just like any other animal it is not supposed to be so muscular if it is just comin out from an egg, or was found in a broken egg. :(
I really hope to be wrong, I love dragons.

  4. The man whom “found” it is a writer and sead it was all made up by him to advertise a book he wrote. the dragon was made by the people thet makes the dinos for the descovery ch. and a glass blower in europe made the jar and the writer made the documents.
