hmmm… It could be done.
Depending on this spinning thing I’ve been considering.
I did hear back from the club owner (through channels) after he deliberated for a few days. Owners crack me up. They’ll hedge over $25 in wages and end up with a half-assed dj, rather than eat it knowing that $25 is FOUR PEOPLE THROUGH THE FRICKIN DOOR. Very rare is the owner that understands that the more you spend (wisely) the more you will make back. Spoil your staff, and they’ll work ten times harder for you. Build a lavish room and people will want to be in it. Build a smart kickass soundsystem so people can talk at their table and dance like mad on the floor. Build a sweet light show so people remember being blown away by the whole experience. Most of all though- take care of your staff and they’ll take care of you. The bottom line doesn’t have to be so far down there, you know?
Anyway, I still haven’t sat down with management to talk details. Management, btw, is golden at this joint. Smart people from the right side of the industry. So I guess getting all excited about a huge dance festival might be premature unless I want the club to wait till September to start me. It’s crossed my mind. heh heh.
Current agony: buy the camera today? If I do, I’ll be broke for a month. But I could pass the time with the camera quite nicely, couldn’t I?
25 bucks eh?
WOOOPDEEEEE-DOOO
Your so worth more than that.
