Back to the ol’ SLR (Beatles lyrical referrence intentional).
So I booted the Fuji to the curb and spent the week apologizing & trying to make it up to my trusty Nikon F-65. We’ve made a lot of progress and I think she knows I’ll never let her go. I know she’ll have a hard time understanding when the sexy little Canon G2 shows up, but she’s gotta know I can’t afford to take her out all the time. She’s high-maintenance. Sometimes you’ve got to kick back & relax with a camera that doesn’t demand so much from you. A camera that’s more experimental and certainly more playful.
It’ll be hard, but in time my Nikon will know she’ll always be first in my heart and she’ll be secure enough in our relationship that she won’t mind.
Aaron thinks I’ll eventually leave her behind but let’s face it: he’s never had a baby like this:

I’ll never let her go. Others will come into my life. In fact, one of them is only a few days away, (hello, G2, you sexy minx) but I will never forsake my first love.
hey dj. :) long time no see.
quick question: why are all the conquered, used, manipulated possessions in a man’s life always referred to as “She”? A land, a boat, a beloved, yet demanding SLR??? why?
p.s. nice pics. I miss the hi-res of the old cameras.
COMMENT:
because we love them. now hush & go fix dinner. ;)
Is it wrong that I totally got turned on from reading that?
Oh jesteR, you’re still thinking threesomes, aren’t you.
No– just of sexy cameras.
NOW I am thinking of threesomes.
did someone say threesome??? aa, you’ve been gone too long. come back quick! ;)
Hahah true enough. I’ve never had a camera like that, but I’ve never had the skill to make the pictures you do either, which is probably secretly why I love digital. *grin*
Ok, I take back my “you’ll leave her the first chance you get!!” attitude. She’s here to stay. Hear that, SLR? You can stop putting ketchup packets under my door and stepping on them, ok?
Good.
