the Mill @ the Mt

It was an odd trip. Less than half the people there were Millians. And of the Millians that went, I was the only Troublemaker. The other notorious lads had commitments to school, or gross lack of fundage. It made for an interesting mix up there.

For instance. Where one might assume mass drunken revellry there was instead a really good game of Pictionary. Preceded by a rather rousing game of Scrabble. And where one would expect one blazing memorable moment after another, of the sort legends are made, there was a peaceful escape from the city.

We return well rested, with only the aches and pains one would expect from a pleasant weekend on the slopes.

With my bank account being what it is, I didn’t even make it that far. I lounged in front of the fire and held the fort.

Don’t misunderstand now. I had a great weekend. I feel at peace and relatively well centered after a relaxing couple of days. On the ride home, again, I wanted nothing more than to come home to someone of whom the very sight makes me feel… home. Alas, it’s just me & you, unfortunately (I say it with love). It’s a feeling I’m getting some experience with- a vague loneliness in spite of the fact I have a wealth of friends who mean the world to me. *shrug*

So I guess, to respond directly to Aaron’s whinging demand (I love you, brother) for a ski-trip post: we went, it was nice, the scenery was beautiful, and I relaxed in happy contentment. Worth it? Definitely. Memorable? I’m not sure yet. Not in the legendary sense. It was… nice. Call it a well-appreciated break from the usual frenzy.

There are a few more pics over on Aaron’s post.

  1. Heh. Thanks for the post. :)

I agree, it wasn’t Full of Incredible Memories, and ‘really nice’ is probably as apt a description as any. Actually, I like the idea of a relaxing weekend better than a drunkfest.

Oh well. I guess we all have to get old sometime! :)

    COMMENT:
Sorry I missed it. I wanted to go, but this flu bug got the best of me and this is my first real day back in the reality of work. I am still coughing and sound as hoarse as can be, but the fog in my head has cleared.
