You can tell Jaime’s got a really big heart, and that she’s more sensitive than most. She’s been hesitant to discuss Iraq not out of apathy, but out of sympathy. The whole thing is a pretty huge psychological weight for some of us, and there’s only so much we can do.
But when she does say her piece it’s obviously well thought out. In exactly the same way that she’s tried to avoid opening the flood gates, you can only hold off for so long.
Take a couple minutes to read her post. Then find something to do that will remind you of how good you’ve got it. We need hope, and you find it in the strangest places. Peas, Jaime?
Huge hugs for Jaime, and for everyone else that cares.
*sigh*
What else is there to say today? It was a strange day at work. It flew by at a mad pace, but didn’t feel like it at all. Got tons done, but don’t really recall feeling rushed until the very end. I think I’m getting used to the pace. Yikes. It’s such an amazing bunch of people, and Kirstie and Dave are fitting in perfectly. Sometimes it’s honestly dizzying to think about how much strength there is at the Mill.
We’ve thrown down, so to speak. We had an admittedly complacent 2002. We were performing very strongly in our market niche. The biggest little fish in the pond. But that complacency left a window for the competition to get in the game, and they took it.
Well, we saw it coming back in November, and I’d say the first real salvo went out yesterday.
It was a small shot, really. We pointed out that something they are introducing as a wild new innovation is something we’ve been doing for two years, and doing it one better than them. We made this shot fairly, and diplomatically. Really, it was a tiny shot, as far as declaring friendly war goes.
Wait till they see what we launched today. HA!
I can’t help myself. After reading the words ‘first salvo’ and ‘tiny shot’ in your post I took the metaphor to heart. I had this picture in my head.
