Things have been pretty mad around the Mill for the past couple months, and we’ve found ourselves without much time for the gym. 14 hours in front of a computer and at meetings will take the energy right out of you, surprisingly enough.
So Leah was lamenting our return. What a cutey. So AA and I walk in there tonight after approximately two months absence and she was all smiles.
And the workout was SUCH a good thing. I don’t think people realize how important exercise is for a healthy mind and emotional balance. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who spend way too much time in the gym, and again it’s a question of moderation. Don’t go to the gym to hammer out your frustrations. That’s wrong. You’ll just get injured. You should be in there to flex your muscles, to feel your body accomplish things. It’s not punishment. It’s a reward. Take care of your body and it will take care of you.
So it’s very good to be back in there. Hopefully we can get into the three days a week routine. Sound minds and bodies, kids. That’s how we’ll take over the world.
Hey- I’ve gone a little gif happy for some reason. Here’s one of my absolute faves:
Could have something to do with the growing global fascination with pants. There’s just something hillarious about the word. Especially if drawn out in a long deep rumble, or sung out in a cartoonish falsetto.
Maybe I’m just easily amused.
Anyway, it’s really good to be able to get the gym back into the schedule, and I hope I can stay with it past the usual three or four month burn. I’m 230 these days, and I’d like to get that back down to 200 in time for bikini season. Them, not me. Heh heh.
Yeah, I feel GREAT, so much more energy and this is only day two back. Very cool stuff. And we can SO do this thing, baby! Almost-free shakes never hurt, either. Except when we drink them and we shouldn’t. Ahhh, we deserved it. :)
Cheers, Leah!
